    Not a budget pedal. Just happens to be cheap!

    Great Klon clone. Lots of clean op-amp gain and enough boost on the other dial to take any clean amp from grit to saturation. This won't djent but it will do everything inbetween. I've modded mine with the JHS mods. Very easy to do and germanium clipping sounds much nicer and more authentic Klon imho. Some people say this is a boost and not an overdrive, they are wrong. It does both. The op amps in these are the same as the original Klon and have a huge amount of gain on tap. I can heavily distort a 1977 Ultra Linear Twin Reverb (4x6l6 bottles) with this easily! The buffer works well too and has a switch inside the pedal to do true bypass as an alternative.

    Great pedal but DOESN'T take a battery!

    Great clean boost or overdrive pedal (not for high gain distortion) but it's mains only. Yes it's advertised as able to run on the usual 9v battery, but it does NOT take an English 9v - the battery compartment is too small and you'd need an American 9v to fit it. I sent it back for that reason because I want a portable pedal, and even on a board battery backup is a good idea, so be aware if you're going to buy one.

    Knockout overdrive.

    I've been looking for an overdrive to offset against my 80s Tubescreamer. This works perfectly as a low drive more transparent (retains the organic tone of the guitars) overdrive that compliments the vintage and high end pedals that I used. Probably the best bang for the buck around.. Go for it..

    Electro Harmonix Soul Food

    This pedal is fantastic , if your looking for a classic overdrive / crunch type sound this is the pedal for you . Its also great for blues with the tone rolled off a bit , ive have had a Boss Blues Driver in my opinion this is definitely better . Its basically a clone copy of the KLON CENTAUR . But a fraction of the price !!! It comes with it's own power supply in the box , and is also powered by a square 9v battery. ( you need to undo the 4 screws ) underneath the pedal to put the battery in . Apparently some people have said there's no battery ??? But the definitely is . I'd give the Soul Food . 5☆☆☆☆☆. 👍
