For that matter, with its close-focus distance of just 16.4 feet, the Solo gives you a good look at nearby objects, too. Its rubber-armoured housing is O-ring sealed to keep out water and dust, and purged with nitrogen to prevent internal fogging no matter the conditions.

  • Good Range

this is a highly adequate little optic. A- Very compact in the hand and the pouch whilst carried and made with good materials on the exterior for comfort and grip. it has weight but not much due to size and it is not cumbersome. Its well made - good solid build quality and solid feel to the moving parts. nothing loose. nothing weak. lenses are exposed but protected against anything short of careless direct protruding impact by design. Optic Visuals - good magnification and field of view. 4'' Sign writing invisible as a blur at 200yds is easily read with a steady hand. Shapes completely out of view at 800yds (almost half a mile) can be distinguished in 50% daylight. a grey car / a motorcycle / a motorway sign with arrows viable, unlit street lights, so on that front it is most impressive for the size and price. Colors on the red side are not vivid at range and the image is not solid around the edge of the field of view past 500yds - appears 20/30% darker also - but up to 500yds its crystal and blues are spot on and contrast is good and crisp once focused. Focus is very tight, but will loosed with use.

  • Vortex Monocular. Great bit of kit.

Great bit of kit and I love it. So, why only 4 stars then? I have compared it with my (similar) Leica unit which is many times more expensive. It actually compares well considering it is not that expensive. It gets 4 stars only because I should have bought the 8x25 or similar. 10 times magnification is too much in my opinion. Better off with just 8 times mag. Appears to be water resistant and nicely made with its (detachable) lanyard and case. Can be fitted to the trouser belt if required. Easy to adjust and eye-piece simply screws out and 'locks'. I also have a really cheap one that I bought from 'Temu' that works and is much cheaper, but quality? You get what you pay for. Very pleased with the Vortex Monocular; it is easy to use and very light. I recommend it.

  • Small, well made, light and durable

This 10x25 is the second Vortex monocular I have purchased. My other is an 8x25. Both are extremely good value for the quality of the product. I hike and the compactness of the unit is ideal for that sort of activity. Between the two I would say the 8x25 has a slightly better image but not by much and is made up for by the greater magnification of the 10x25. The quality of the optics is amazing for the price.

  • Compact Monocular

I'm an archer and am using it to sight arrows. It also works well for animal and bird watching.

  • Great bit of kit

Lightweight, compact and very sturdy. Easy to carry and very useful to take out walking. I find it much more convenient to take than binoculars. I use it mainly for bird/nature watching and find it very satisfactory. Good value for money.

  • Good for a mono

Good for a mono, extreemly lightweight and handy, but can't be compared to a binocular.
