A very good jigsaw.
This is a good jig saw. The oscillating action of the blade as the blade moves vertically makes for very efficient cutting action, as well as being controllable. The blade guides make for a good square kerf along the cut path. The variable speed control is excellent. Blade changing is ridiculously easy. In a nutshell, this jigsaw does most everything it is designed for very well. As this purchase was a used unit, it needed a few wear items replaced, after which it performs very well. Better than the newer models
I borrowed a Bosch jig saw from a friend a number of years ago, and it was so much better than my current saw that I kept it in my head for years. I was debating between a Festool and a Bosch, and saw that the newer models of the Bosch saws have gotten neutral to bad reviews, and so found out that the 1590 was pretty universally agreed that it was a great saw. Unfortunately, Bosch isn't making them any more, but tada - ebay to the rescue! It is a great saw - I've never used a nicer one. Professional Quality
The Bosch 1590evs or 1591evs are both professional models designed for the craftsman or experienced weekend warrior. It is not a good value for one who rarely uses it because of the price. There are lesser models for that purpose. I have used Bosch jigsaws for over thirty years finding them extremely dependable and durable.
