  • Feels like a quality product should

When you open the box and see the case you can tell you have chosen well as the case itself is a tough well made type instead of the usual blown plastic grey types you get with Clark etc etc, open the case and you are greeted with more quality the tool itself when you first pick it up and hold it you will feel as if it has a rubbery type of coating to the finish which i really think helps with the grip and handling of the tool but that's not all as you can hang the tool on the supplied clamp stand and then you can use the included flexi shaft which again is of top quality construction as is the range of tools included all as good as the Dremel range of tools which will fit this machine as well,It is a very good well made product that will do everything you ask of it,do read the safety instructions as it is very important for safe use of the tool and that you don't damage the tool through misuse 5 stars from me.

  • Ferm Multi - Tool.

I was a bit sceptical when I purchased this item as I have used (and burnt out) more than one machine, the last one being a dremmel. I thought the price would reflect the quality but was more than pleasantly surprised at the power & torque that this piece of kit has, and can honestly say that it has more power & better build quality than similar items that are 3 times the price. Whether it lasts or not only time will tell, but it's heavy not light and flimsy, robust, & very good quality for something (dare I say it) so cheap! Up to now I've done every job possible with it & no problems... simply unbelievable for the price!

  • Wow- Simply Amazing! So good that after 20 years online I am writing my first ever review to help others...

I have used many multi-tools over the years, including the well known Dremel brand. I have also had the misfortune of using some pretty terrible iterations, and I swore I would never buy anything other than a Dremel in the future, cheap tools usually just have no torque and stall all of the time! However whilst looking to purchase a new tool I cam across this, I was really skeptical about how good it could be when it's total price delivered with all of the additional accessories cost less that the flexidrive alone from Dremel! In the end despite telling myself I would never buy another multi-tool that was not a Dremel, I thought I would take a chance. Wow am I glad that I did - The unit looks to be really good quality, even the packaging it arrives in looks good, there are little subtle things that make all the difference - a 'rubberised' feel, a small Velcro loop on the cable to wrap away, all nicely printed up, a very pleasant surprise :) and the unit itself is so powerful! It has been used several times already and combined with the stand it is a great tool. Not only is this in another league to other cheap multi-tools, but in my opinion it is better than the market leader too! How it is produced and sold this cheaply at a profit is beyond me. I think Ferm is also quite an old brand (Over 50 years!) so it does have some heritage too. The Dremel I almost purchased was five times the cost of this (£100) and I don't see how it would have been any better. Trust me on this one, if you are considering this or a Dremel get this - You simply will not be disappointed! I think someone has left a review saying it is a little unruly and not accurate, but this is in comparison to medical dental drills! I mean, come-on what do you expect for £20 delivered, why even compare it against thousands of pounds worth of equipment. For the ordinary user not extracting teeth this will be absolutely more than adequate, better than that you can take yourself out for a diner or two on the money you didn't throw way on a Dremel.

  • Easy to use and light weight

As a retiree with too much time on my hands I set about finding an absorbing hobby. I settled on engraving. This tool is a dream. It can almost cut into anything just as the proverbial knife cuts through butter. I have tried it on stainless steel, Aluminium, glass wood and silver. Engraving / cutting is a breeze. It comes with a small selection of bits/drills which can tackle most jobs and replacement bits etc can be found cheaply on Ebay. It is at home in the hobby room, shed, garage etc, I have even used it to trim an exhaust pipe on my car, also great at polishing out scratches. Faults....not much to speak about. If you use it for a long time and the motor is straining the hand-piece can get very, very hot (ouch!). This however is easily overcome by not pressing too hard and do a little work often. I highly recommend it and the seller.

  • Great piece of kit

Totally over the moon, it's brilliant, good quality, robust, if anyone thinking of buying one don't hesitate, it's a fraction of the cost of a Dremel and works just as good if not better. Using it for jewellery sculpting and polishing, even to grind down a channel in a piece of nylon block, does the job with ease.

  • Nice little tool

I have been using the tool a fair bit now. It has done well. The bits that come with it are of good quality and the tool does what is says on the tin. The only problem I have had is that the flex shaft tends to over heat. I am going to grease it and I think that will solve the issue. For now I just stop and let it cool.

  • Ferm Drill

This drill is quite literally, a beast! powerful enough to cut through metals and stone (with the right attachments for the job), it's combi-utility setup and in-built recoil allow the user a smooth experience with next to no vibration feedback and can fit any manner of drill bits. My boss tried after he asked out of curiosity and he was even impressed by it and he was put off them years ago after one broke on him in a dangerous manner. The fact that this is British Standard Tested and it Passed is enough for most but the quality is far surpassed for any drill of it's kind for a great price! Highly recommended for trained professionals and beginners alike, this is one of the best drills I've come across yet!

  • Combitool.

Great product. Even the outer box wrapping is quality! Very pleasantly surprised with just how good it is in action too. I bought it for polishing jewellery and the flexi Drive is just perfect for that. Added bonus is it accepts all of Drexel’s bits and pieces. Great value too at a fraction of Driemels prices. Highly recommend this tool.

  • serious ability

This bit of kit is brilliant ! using it to clean engine bay of rust etc. and the huge amount of torque is just what I needed. variable speed is a real bonus, and the flexible drive with drill sling is excellent. flex drive can bend to nearly 3.5cm radius allowing to reach into the engine bay and get into tight corners, holding it like a pen. Useful bits come in handy carry case. Haven't used as drill yet but can imagine that torque will make it very powerful. can't recommend highly enough, in fact I'm tempted to buy another one whilst I can!

  • Fern combitool

Bought it specifically to cut out of 3x rc motors the grub screw and pinion gears. It worked perfect. It feels very sturdy and comes with substantial parts to do various jobs. Only small minus I noticed the spinning motor getting hot but again I did run in quite hard for on/off 15 minutes and it litterarly tore through the grub screw and pinion gear!
