What's the $20 difference?
The hortilux super hps bulbs are $55. These ENHANCED super hps bulbs cost $78 and produce the exact same spectrum of light and amount of lumens. Side by side the bulbs are no different in intensity. So I'm pretty much coonvinced that I paid $23 more for the word "enhanced." So from one grower to another, go with the plain old super hps bulbs for less. Fraud alert
I ordered two hortilux bulb. They wouldn't work with my balasts so I went toy local store to have everything checked. So he pulls them out of the original hortilux boxes to find that they were NOT original hortilux bulbs. Good ol switcharoo. wow so much brighter than any ive ever used!
this light is so so much brighter than i have used in the past. i always got the less expensive hps 1000w in the past. i thought this cant be that much better but i had to see after hearing such good things about it. i plugged it into my digital ballast and set it to only 600w and it was already as bright as any other hps when they were set to a full 1000w !! so then i cranked it on up to 1000w i cant see im blind lol. i could look at the others but not this one! i cant imagine if i go up one higher to the super hps setting on the ballast but i am quite sure it would easily handle it. i have never had my tomatoes or any plants grow as fast as they are now. thanks! its going to be a awesome garden that everyone will envy this year im sure!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

excelent bulb
a few years back people argued the fact that these bulbs were so high priced that cheaper bulbs were just as good. However now these bulbs are very affordable and to top it off I have used cheaper bulbs and they are in my opinion not as good, most cheap bulbs don't hold their spectrum long if at all I have stood right there and seen color shift. Is Hortilux worth the money ?
My first run using the Hortilux super HPS was a night and day difference as far as yield and quality. I was running the el cheapos before because I did not think it made a difference. I was wrong. you can pick them up on E-bay for 1/2 the price of what grow shops charge. Just make sure you are receiving a brand new bulb. People have a tendency of using them for 1 cycle and then trying to resell them to people who are not wise to this. Check the sellers reviews and score first and you should be golden.
