You get what you pay for
Having bought a cheaper garden bench a few years ago made of a cheap hardwood and then having had to patch it up every few years, I decided to spend a bit more and get one made of teak. This arrived from the seller much quicker than expected and after studying the assembly instructions the bench went together easily.. This bench is very sturdily made and I expect it to outlast the previous one by miles. Now with two coats of teak oil applied, the timber looks fantastic and I am sure that I will enjoy it for the rest of my life - (since I am a pensioner!) I would like to acknowlege the company in Indonesia who made this product (from legally sourced wood) the design has been well thought out.

Not good quality wood throughout. Frame has started to split after 1 week.

Good for price of £120
Good for the price. Self-assembly is easy with the supplied tenons and dowels - I glued mine. The four screws to hold the seat could have been stainless instead of zinc plate, but that's a very minor criticism.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Excellent value for money.
I was concerned as to how good the wood would be for the money. It was well made, sturdy and fitted together easily. A year or so later it had faded in colour, having been outside the whole time. A good wash off, allowed to dry and a bottle of teak oil brought it back to a lovely red colour.A couple of sliight splits in wood, but this bench should last a good many years. Good quality, excellent value.
As described, the teak used for this bench was of good quality, having none of the heart wood (paler) in it. The joints were well cut, and accordibgly, fitted well.All the timber was well finished, and only required a quick brush over with a couple of coats of 50/50 oil and spirit mix to bring out the rich colours. Some people prefer to allow the teak to weather to a silver grey colour, but I always think that whilst the teak will not rot it does run the risk of joints drying out, becoming loose, then wearing further. I am a carpenter, and hard to please when buying anything made of wood, but was more than satisfied with this bench. I do not think you will find a bench for the same sort of money that is made from quality timber, and properly jointed. If it is oiled once a year, and not left out all winter I can see it outlasting me. (not hard given my lifestyle!)Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Most excellent quality and service.
I ordered this bench on 6/5/18, it was delivered 10/5/18. You will need a hammer, wooden or rubber mallet (advise the use of a small piece of wood between the hammer and bench if you haven't got a mallet) when tapping the mortice and tenon together and a phillips screwdriver. It is best to lightly sand one end of the dowels as this facilitates getting it started into the hole. The bench was in use in the garden in 15 minutes. Outstanding quality for the price and, if you can manage Leggo, this will be a walk in the park as you now have an excellent 'Park' bench. Most highly recommended.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
