  • A totally engaging film which warms the heart as you laugh along.

I came across this film by accident watching it with some friends. Such a good piece of work - funny, sensitive, tender and totally engaging. Despite being subtitled it's easy to watch and well filmed, with superb acting from all members ofthe cast. I bought two copies here, one to keep and we've watched it twice already, and another copy for a family present. Get it, watch it.

  • Great movie!

It is subtitled but easy to follow. A great film and I bought further copies to gift friends. A real heartwarming feel-good movie and it will leave you with a big smile on your face. Just buy it!

  • I love this film!

A heart-warming, often very funny film which is based on a true story. It is about the friendship between two men, whose social backgrounds are poles apart. The two main characters are played by Francois Cluzet and Omar Sy, who give outstanding performances along with a very talented supporting cast. The film is well directed by Olivier Nakache & Éric Toledano, and has an excellent musical score composed and performed by Ludvico Einaudi. Please do not be put off by it being subtitled, the film will draw you in and you will not even realise that it is subtitled. It’s definitely in the top five of my all time favourite ‘feel good’ films. Go on, give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

  • very funny with a bit of sadness.

The first time I saw this film i was attracted to the two main characters of which they were both different and from two different backgrounds. The saying goes opposites attract and in this case they did, bringing the best out in both parties. Completely on his uppers slowly the main character showed the kinder side quickly learning to help his employerand his employer in return the employer encouraging the employee. The employer did not want the stereo type carer and i could see why as in the past he had a very active life, in many fields including it appeared extreeme sports. As the story unfolded the film showed humanity at its best and in the end the two main people remaining very close friends.

  • Brilliant film I recommend.

For years, I'd wanted to watch this film. It's a very good one, both funny and touching. The dialogs are great. It's interesting to see the translation: at times the dialogs have been "adapted" so that English/Americans could relate to the film. François Cluzet is brilliant as usual, and so is Omar Sy. I do recommend this film, a good time is guaranteed.

  • Get your hands on a copy today!

Hilarious, engaging, intelligent, life-affirming film. Human spirit trumps 'the broken social system.' Highly recommended. French cinema at it's best! A modern day classic! If you are taking French, this is an excellent way to spend a couple of hours in serious study.

  • Brilliant

I think because it is a true story that I really liked it. The actors work well with each other. Although it was French with subtitles I still enjoyed it.

  • Disappointed

DVD arrived in good time, well packaged & undamaged. This is a fantastic film that I've seen several times. I was very disappointed to find it had subtitles as when I'd watch it previous it had been dubbed in English. I didn't read in the description it had subtitles as i wouldn't have purchased it.

  • Very emotional and heart-felt

This film is full of emotion and I just loved the relationship between the 3 main characters. I can quite see how this incredible film has been remade in Hollywood ... told in a different way they borrow heavily from the original ... I think that it is a great story/real life drama to tell other generations because it was magnificent .... loved loved loved everything
