Hatcher is a huge surprise here, giving self-effacing, disheveled and sadly hopeless Susan a spirit that makes you root for her. Cross is almost too perfect as uptight Bree, managing to give the character more shadings than merely insanely perfect. Sheridan is a veteran at the vixen role but brings a level of vicious humor to it this time and Longoria is pretty much all the hot anyone can handle., DVD Verdict - The guiltiest pleasure on television, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES has broken every commandment in the Bible and every law on the books. But we wouldn't have it any other way. The show has made housewives hot, and America has noticed. We've all learned "sometimes evil drives a minivan."
