Excellent build quality There’s no denying the robust build of the XF55-200mmF3.5-4.8 R LM OIS. It’s great for those occasions when you want to pull in more distant subjects, but don’t want to carry a huge lens to do so.

  • Brilliant little telephoto zoom.

There are a few options for mid range telephoto zooms from Fuji but this lens is exceptional. I have owned and used lots of Canon "L" glass including the 70-200 2.3 and the 70-200 f4 and the 300 f4 and 400 f5.6. This Fuji lens is better than all of them, its as sharp, has exceptional colour saturation and micro contrast, the image stabilization is better and its half the price. Build quality is very solid and the lens feels like it will last forever. The only slight negative is that the zoom mechanism is much stiffer than most other lenses i've used but it works and it does not slip. People are obsessed with buying new camera bodies mostly they dont improve your images much, but a lens like this will give you a big step up in image quality.

  • a good lens but not a great lens

a lens designed to fit in the mid range effective for decent portraits and garden wildlife. is relatively fast . the lens hood is like a n oversized toilet roll inner and looks out of place. however the lens is sharp and has a nice bokeh if needed . not heavy but lacks 50mm at the long end and is too fat at the short end 16 to 259 and it would be a cracking all round wildlife lens . however it does not dissapoint.

  • A very high quality lens.

Although this is a used lens it is virtually unmarked and in excellent condition, as it was described. Fuji XT series lenses are of the highest build quality.

  • Fuji XF 55-200 mm lens - an excellent purchase.

An excellent buy for my Fuji XT1. The focal length range is ideal for me and when you consider that there is an effective "multiplication factor" because of the small sensor on my camera. this is even better. It takes over where my standard 18 -55 mm lens leaves off. I haven't had my lens long, but on first use it seems crisp in operation and just as sharp as my Nikon lenses. It is easy to use and is light and doesn't take up much space in my camera bag. I love it! That said there are a couple of points to mention: 1. The maximum aperture ranges from f3.5 to f4.8 so it isn't as fast as some other lenses. To counter-balance this point I would add that the image stabilisation (OIS) is great and the Fuji cameras work well at relatively high ISOs with little noise. 2. Again, because of the relatively small maximum aperture, it is more difficult to blur the background than with some other wider-aperture lenses. However coupling it up with a small extension tube should overcome this and help to bring the focus forward too (minimum focus distance is about 6 ft). However don't be tempted by a cheap non-Fuji tube set, as I was initially. (I couldn't get them to fit on this lens so I had to return them and opt for purchasing a Fuji tube instead)
