This set allows the listener to follow and hear the changes and development of Leonard Cohen's career. Rather than just the "essential" songs - it includes the more obscure compositions. These are so often very personal. He was always more of poet than anything else. Load these into you CD changer and spend a rainy Sunday celebrating the works of a master of prose and song. This collection shines a light into (most) all the corners and crevices of his heart and soul. This collection contains ELEVEN cds in an attractive box. It contains every studio album Cohen recorded, from "The Songs of Leonard Cohen," through "Dear Heather." Later cds, like "Old Ideas," are NOT included. Good recording quality. If you are a Leonard Cohen fan, you will love this.
