With the Logitech Squeezebox Duet network music player, consumers can listen to music files stored on any device in a wired or wireless home network using a home theatre system, a stereo, a mini-system, or any other audio output device. Two elements comprise this Logitech digital media streamer, the Squeezebox controller and the Squeezebox receiver. The compact receiver measures 155 mm wide by 112 mm deep by 28 mm high (6.1 inches wide by 4.4 inches deep by 1.1 inches high), while the controller can be comfortably held in the palm of a hand. Both can connect seamlessly to a wireless network to control and reproduce music files in any room using the devices connected to the Logitech Squeezebox Duet receiver. However, it is also possible to integrate this Logitech digital media streamer using a hybrid or bridged installation, depending on the owner's home network settings. A colour LCD TFT display on the controller simplifies navigation through the media libraries or the Internet radios or services available, reproducing contents without turning on the computer. With more receivers, this Logitech digital media streamer enables multi-room control of different output devices, for example, a home theatre system in the living room and a stereo in the bedroom. Seamless performer with the Squeezebox family
The most complex part of this product is setup, specifically getting the Controller hooked up to your WiFi. This is simply because the method of entry for alphanumeric characters is a little tedious. But once you've done it, it's done. The Receiver is basically a headless Squeezebox, with WiFi and Ethernet, plus analogue and digital audio out, and indeed you can control any other Squeezeboxen with the Controller that you might have. You'll almost certainly want to run a Logitech Music Server with all your music on it, so bear in mind that while all these Logitech hardware products are long discontinued (why?), the Music Server is now a community supported product and extremely feature-rich.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

The best streaming music system there was
I've had a Squeezebox Duet since they came out, back in 2008. I was seriously impressed by it when I first got it, and almost a decade later I still am (and am possibly more so, given how long has passed since it was made). It is (or was -- sadly it's not been manufactured for some time) a fantastic streaming music system, similar to -- but much, much better value than -- Sonos or the like. I have ~5,000 albums in my collection and Squeezebox (Logitech Media Server) copes with that volume just fine, running on a remarkably cheap Raspberry Pi 3 B+ box plus USB hard-disk (so, less than £100 all-in), serving 3 Duet systems around the house. Logitech's decision to discontinue the Squeezebox-based system is still utterly baffling -- it beat (or at least equals) all the current alternatives, and I think they could have dominated the streaming music system market if they'd tried. Surprisingly does the job well.
Bought second hand and have been surprised how well it fits into my Hi Fi system for its age. Just missing a cover image on the screen as a reminder of which CD is playing, but it is ten years old. Sound quality from FLAC files is great compared with MP3's, but a bit of research is needed to optimise.
