Better Than Expected
These replaced 15 year old Polk RTI-8 towers - Currently run by Denon DRA 697ci 100 watt per stereo receiver w/ Denon DVD player - I am not into home theater, stricktly stereo CD audio - Impressive Out-Of-The-Box performance - (Polk says they need 100+ hours to break in) - First impression was that, contrary to other observations, these speakers have plenty of bass - More prominent & tighter than the RTI-8's - They also have a much wider & more open soundstage even though they are currently placed atop 2 dining chairs (17" high) - I raised them to 21" by placing books underneath and the improvement in openness & instrument placement is readily noticeable... I will be ordering custom stands from GWIZ PRODUCTS in 2 weeks w delivery about 2 weeks later - Two weeks from then I will be adding a Cambridge Audio CD platform - Given that these are phenomenal out-of-the-box, I expect even greater performance after they have matured and sit atop 21" stands thru an audiophile grade CD source... I bought these thru Polk Audio's Ebay store - Less than $1.000 including shipping - Absolutely no flaws what-so-ever - OUTSTANDING VALUE - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED... Polk LSiM 703 Speakers.
These are the absolute bookshelf speakers I ever listened to, and they are not even broken in yet. 3 way bookshelf speakers make a big difference over the typical 2 way. I was using Bose 301 which were fine but way too much bass, whereas these Polk's are well balanced and deliver. Acurate - Marvelous
I really do not want to drive the price up, but these babies are what I have been looking for for 45 years ! Using 5 of these little jewels with 3 Denon power amps and a new Oppo front end . Now that they are all broke in after 3 months , the sound is the best I have ever had. Even my old stereo prog rock sounds fantastic ! Of coarse the mid bass is very sensitive to to original production of the program material and the reflections of the room ,but with a good sub for below 50 HZ , I think you will be very happy for less than several grand .Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great lively large room speakers
I have both the lsi9 and the lsim 703 powered by pioneer sx1050 and sourced from oppo bdp-83.. lsi9 is perfect for small room headphone like listening..very detailed and clean.. lsim703 is much more alive in a larger room setting.. still breaking in and anticipating more smoothness as this occurs.. so in my opinion.. small room lsi9..larger room lsim703..high resolution music will awe you on either of these..Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
