Great essentials
Fantastic collection if you like old 78s expertly remastered. Back before Walter had to leave Germany, he did these exquisite Mozart recordings, and the seminal Mahler 9th. I'm not crazy about opera vocals, but the orchestral discs here are essential. ¢¢

Excellent historical recordings
Bruno Walter was a truly great conductor and all the works here are in outstanding performances. In particular, no Wagner fan should miss the ACT 1 Walkure with Act 2 excerpts. Lehmann and Melchior have never been equalled as the sibling lovers.
