The GPS-powered Passport 9500ix Radar Detector provides long-range 360-degree protection against every known radar and laser gun in use in North America. The AutoLearn feature uses artificial intelligence to identify and eliminate false alarms automatically. In addition, the radar detector tags a location “red light camera," “speed camera," “speed trap," or “other" so you know why you are receiving an alert. The unit comes pre-loaded with thousands of safety camera locations and this database can be updated. This radar detector is not as sensitive as some of the more expensive detectors but it has served me very well. It also will detect red light cameras, speaks to inform you that you are over the speed limit, it will detect police radar even before you can see the police! Some times it give an audible warning but then I see no police in sight, it may be detecting the K or X band of other cars, BMWs, Cadillacs etc.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

It is only ok but I am not overly impressed.
I accidentally set a speed trap near my house and only compounded the problem each time I tried to clear it. I am afraid the police will be attracted to it and make it a point to write me a ticket. I wish it were a stealth type. It goes off at known traffic lights and speed monitors but I hasn't seen it identify police radar as yet.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I already had one.
Have multiple vehicles and already had one of these. The range is ridiculous. You think it might be a false alarm which I can't remember having for the longest time and finally, there's the man (keeping the roads safe I might add). This is a radar detector not a ticket detector (one that goes off when the police officer is standing at your door asking for your paperwork). As I said I already had one but, my Audi has red dash lights and looks like you're in the space shuttle at night. Looking at the blue display drove me nuts! Top notch for the price

great product when it works properly
I love the passport radar. but, since I bought it used. One is to always take a chance on its performance. I believe that is why is was being sold. It tends to connect to satellite from time to time. it doesn't always record the MPH. it gets caught up in trying to connect as you continue driving for many miles.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Hide the buttons

Not convinced, old Beltronics 995 worked better.
We have only used this for one road trip so far, and for the 6 police that passed us, or that we saw, all state troopers, on 2 lane road, this radar detector only signaled twice, it also signaled for 2 stationery speed monitors, good thing we were only going about 5 mph over.
