Decent for the price
When it arrived there were large particles down the edges of the plate which caused deep cuts on my tools. I had to use another diamond plate to remove these but then it seemed to work ok except that in some places it's down to the steel. It's useful for honing other stones though and still has some life left in it. Now I've worn it down a fair bit it does sharpen tools quite nicely. An excellent solid peice of kit.
Solid and heavy piece which sits firmly in the holder and does not move around the banch when sharpening. Completely flat and produces a very good sharp edge. The bigger size makes it ideal for sharpening planes as well as chisels. The double sided different coarseness of grit is just right for starting and finishing tools. I just tried out this diamond sharping plate and l can say it is the best one l have had in a long time. It didn't take long to get a razor sharp edge on the plane blade. A well designed 400 and 1000 grit double sided fast cutting diamond sharpening stone. With a mounting system that works. The diamond finish seems to be very durable but will only prove itself in the fullness of time. Good for the money
