The MartinLogan ElectroMotion ESL are a pair of main/stereo speakers which are intended to be part of a home theater surround sound system setup. These MartinLogan home theater speakers feature an XStat CLS electrostatic transducer, which combines with magnetic shielding for low distortion and preserved sound quality. The frequency response range of the MartinLogan ElectroMotion ESL is 42 Hz to 22,000 HZ and this pair of main/stereo speakers provides a corresponding crossover frequency of 500 Hz. The recommended amplifier power for these MartinLogan home theater speakers ranges from 20 watts at a minimum to 300 watts at a maximum. Each of the speakers has an 8-inch high excursion which when combined with the doped fiber core of the woofer produces an extended throw and maximizes the bass reflex and overall output. Fantastic bargain. I've had so many great speakers from Klipsch LaScala to Sunfire NHT to Def Technology these Martin Logan's far exceed them all. The
sound is open and airy super crisp and clear with a great soundstage. They can bang or let you hear the most quiet gentle in age. Depth is good. Setup is easy. Associated equipment are Vincent tube amp, Sunfire TG3 preamp, CD transport with Peachtree DAC, and Martin Logan's center and surrounds. They blend in seamlessly with Parasound amps driving them.
