Beware hidden costs
Monsoon is great, the underlying products work well and do what they are designed to do. With that said I must warn you that you will most likely have more costs associated with this than you would think. Monsoon will most likely discontinue this product and stop supporting updates in a year or 2 as they did with their previous product HAVA. That is what led to me buying one of these. The Hava did everything exactly the same, this has no new features and is pretty much the same thing so if you have a PC running windows 7 or earlier just get a hava and save some $. If you do get a Vulkano and want to use it with their android or IOS software please note that you will be forced into purchasing their plus software just to watch anything on it, this was not and is not true for the HAVA. good luck with your purchase.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

You need to follow the instructions very carefully - the setup procedure is very will explained from the online instructions that you can print. Once set up these do an amazingly good job - they will enable you to record and save TV shows, movies and programs to your PC which can't be done with anything else I know of. Discontinued
A pretty good product but has been discontinued by the manufacturer. To register it you must go through their servers and they are often not working. The manufacturer website says they are having problems with servers and that engineers are working on it but info on one of the Forums website says the problem has been around for a couple of months. The manufacturer site also says that they are no longer making hardware and concentrating on software solutions for business. All in all it is likely that all support will be withdrawn at some point and then the box won't work at all. During the initial registration problems, the support people responded within a day, although they didn't know when the server issue would be fixed. I did manage to get my box registered, after a lot of attempts, and it now performs pretty good. There are no annoying adverts (like SlingBox) and the video quality is good (I'm using SD quality on the composite link). The remote control for the Sky+ box is very slow and can take many attempts to change channel. Would be great if I could just enter a channel number.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
