The most modern mobile I could find that still takes standard SIM cards.
£32 for an unlocked phone that runs Android 4.1.2 (It came with Android 2; I had to do the upgrade, which was easy) with a standard SIM card can't be bad. Battery life fine, a day or two between charges which is about par for the course. For a ten-year-old phone, it punches well above its weight. Excellent camera - if slightly sluggish (only slightly), very acceptable sound recorder, I use the All Reader app for PDFs and eBooks. Games? No thanks, don't care. Google apps? No thanks, but you can't delete them without crippling the other web functionality. The music player is a bit fiddly, and it won't play some video formats, but I think this is more due to proprietary lock downs than any fault with the OS design. In-phone storage is very limited (1 G b), but a large micro-SD card and you're away. Seamlessly smooth USB integration with Windows, too. Google maps and G Mail work fine on WiFi and Talk Talk. The screen seems to attract a lot of finger grease deposits, and the shiny bezel on this particular item is worn. Rather disappointed
Having accepted that the phone was a refurbished unit, and obviously had wear and tear, it was disappointing to see it was quite so scratched. That I would have philosophically accepted, but after inserting my SIM when it came to setting it up it kept on repeating 'No SIM'. Eventually having overcome that I found it had numerous photo and video files from previous user, and it wouldn't accept incoming calls, neither was I able to make any calls, despite the display showing signal strength as High. Therefore I was doubtful the phone was a genuine refurbished unit as I would have expected clear files and a quick and easy set-up, which I have failed to achieve.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished
