Great deal
I bought this to primarily play older PS2 games but figured I might as well get the backwards compatible PS3 so I can play (still very good and modern) PS3 games. The packaging was typical of a refurb, plain but tailored made to securely protect the item in transit. Exactly as advertised. There were slight signs of the item not being new but honestly no different than maybe 2-3 weeks of normal ownership so I don't feel that I lost anything other than the new product smell. Came completely blank with no signs of previous ownership such as saves and usernames. Starting it up for the first time felt like I was the first one to do so. The controller is an original Sony but felt a little sticky in the button action. After some use it seemed to have freed it up a bit. The system does work; however, the entire lower right side, front to back, hangs of entirely, but most importantly, the screws that hold the hard drive in place or partly stripped and impossible to remove. I may have to have the screws drilled to remove them so I can put my son's hard drive in its place. Got a bad one
The one I was sent looks nice but gets hot and the fan runs at full speed after 3 min and it periodically shuts off by it self for no reason and to start it u have to push the button on the ps3 and it tells u it was shutdown improperly so u have to go through the process of restarting it and I've yet to be able to play a game due to this hope to get it replaced soon I've bought one like it before from here about a year ago and it still works perfect but this one is junk idk if it's cause its 80gb but both my 60s work fine and I've had one a year and the other 6 yearsVerified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Backwards Compatible, yeah
My Grandson has been wanting Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis for quite a while. The problem with that is that this game was a PS2 Game and we both had PS3's. His console was a PS3 Fat, but not compatible. Mine was a PS3 Slim, again not compatible. I purchased this Console not knowing the exact shape of the console, so I put it away until I could clean it and reapply the Thermal Grease. I purchased some Artic Silver 5. Finally got around to doing the deed. The console is running fine and I'm confident I'm not going to see the YLOD soon! Grandson now has the Jurassic Park Operation Genesis Game and has been playing it as much as possible. Wow this PS3 Fat Model is amazing and in perfect condition!
I got late into the PS3 gaming scene into beginning of 2015. I bought a Slim PS3 and loved it but I still wanted a Fat Model for the PS2 games. This one I upgraded to a 500 gig Hard Drive to install many games. The remote that came with this system is a camouflage and in mint condition. I wasn't a fan of camouflage but this remote has become my favorite remote lol. I loved the remote so much I bought a similar remote for my PS4 system! Working well
The product was exactly as described. The imperfections are barely noticeable. I feel the price was excellent for the quality of product. I am having some difficulties with the internet connection - not sure that is an issue with the unit or user error (likely more so the latter). Got both working
Took awhile to find the problems in the Console. But fixed it power one of the fans don't work and one power supply doesn't work but everything else works. Had to fix the problem with the USB not functioning properly but solder them and now it's working! Thanks for the PlayStation 3's. Looking forward to buy again in the future.Verified purchase: Yes
