Designed to introduce young children to the world of reading, Arthur's Computer Adventure is an animated version of the Marc Brown book, supplemented with five related activities. Children access the book through two modes. Read to Me is a narration of the book with text highlighted in yellow as it is spoken while Let Me Play allows exploration of objects on the screen during narration. Clicking on characters or objects results in animation, more character dialogue and plenty of jokes and puns. Children can also enter any story screen through thumbnail sketches. Treasure Hunt is a board game style activity played against the computer in which words and their sounds are matched to pictures. Three levels of difficulty are available and words can be repeated if necessary. In D. W.'s Store, players buy clothing and accessories to dress toys and earn additional money in the Café by following recipes to make food for the toys. Deep Dark Sea offers three skill levels to practice motor skills and eye-hand coordination as players avoid dangerous sea creatures to reach a sunken treasure before running out of air. Frankenfish contains facts about 12 fish and other sea animals and allows children to switch body parts and add stickers to make their own sea creations. As in Deep Dark Sea, fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination is the thrust of Toy Copter as players maneuver a toy helicopter to drop water balloons and firefighters on a target and then drop a ladder to rescue the firefighters. This updated version of Arthur's Computer Adventure (original game released in 1997), focuses on increasing math, logic and computer skills, boosting reading and vocabulary prowess and offers facts on geography and ocean life to kids ages 3-7.
