  • Legendary XPRO1

Really been looking forward to getting my hands on one of these for a while but didn't want to 'risk' it whilst the prices were too high. Been using the Fuji XT1 for past 4 years so was well aware of the quality of images sooc and knew 16.3mp sensor was more than enough. The XPRO1 is a joy to use and feels amazing in the hands. Build quality, functionality etc etc. I read that the a/f had been really slow when first released, but another plus with using Fuji cameras is the firmware updates so the a/f is much improved since 'her maiden voyage'. A range finder style camera that is great for a variety of work, (not suited to sports photography I've read), but that's never been my genre anyway. I use with vintage lenses and am blown away by the image output. If you are 'on the fence' about picking one up don't be! I did have an XH1 which functionality wise was far superior, but there's just something about this camera that makes me smile..... that could be why I now have two of them!

  • Still tremendous value and super quality.

Even though this is not the latest model, and is only 16 megapixels rather than 24 of the Fuji xPro-2, the image quality is really good, some people have suggested that the sensor on the xpro-1 is better than the later one. The film simulation settins are really good, and the autofocus work well, even though it is slow by latest camera standards. I have found that using the optical viewfinder (with brightline frame) and manual focus cuts down the delay from press to click significantly, but is still a bit slow compared to a Leica M8, which is it's nearest rival. Using legacy lenses is great fun, using cheap adapters and the focus assist and magnified live view means that you can frame and focus with any focal length really easily. Once you have mastered the settings and the shutter delay you have a very fine camera indeed.

  • An X-Pro1 in 2018?

There’s something special about all the Fujifilm X systems and that stands true with the X-Pro1. If you don’t suffer from GAS (gear acquisition..) and you enjoy producing images which look organic rather than digital, you’ll love this. The feel of the body itself is premium, all metal, solidly built (just like the lens’). My X-E2 feels like a toy in comparison.. as it’s smaller but is also special in itself. 16mp is more than adequate, the focus is fast even in low light (which is a contradiction to what others say? play with the settings, never wished for faster), and the OVF is great, just switch on “corrected AF frame” in the menu and learn about parallax.. BUT.. this camera is NOT for everyone. You need to spend time with it, learn it’s quirks and keep all the settings in manual..(aperture, shutter etc) because of that you’ll have to accept that you won’t get perfect images every time but the reward is worth it..

  • Delighted! Great street camera. Very clear display. Excellent ergonomics.

I wanted a lighter camera foŕ my day bag than my Nikon D750. A few professionals had Fujis and seemed very happy, so I bought this older model, adding a 24mm lens, to try it out. Wow! I am not easily impressed, but this is beautiful. The image quality is excellent. Yes, the Nikon with a 35mm lens is definitely better, but this camera is for everyday use when I wouldn't have the Nikon with me. It's the display that stuns me though. It is so clear, and even more intuitive. Absolutely delighted.

  • Solid camera, great quality, good buy if used

Love the camera. Bought it as a backup to the X-T1. Cannot justify $2000 for the X-Pro2 yet... Only thing I hate is that you have to buy a diopter for the viewfinder. There is no internal adjustment like on the X-T1 or X-Pro2. Also focusing is slow but that isn't an issue for my type of use.

  • Complicated and Excellent

Complicated dificult to learn (read the Manual)..Once you get over the querkyness and find your way round all becomes clear and it becomes easier the more you use it. It is now showing it`s age and the slow focusing is frustrating but it makes you take your time. The image quality is it`s saving grace with excelent colour rendering and black and white j pegs unequel anywhere. I was prepared to learn this camera I have other Fufifilm cameras and have not been dissapionted with the Pro 1 now the price is way down low Its a bargain intro to the Fujifilm system.

  • Excellent Camera at a great Price

The Fuji X-PRO1 is a stylish Camera which is lighter than my other 2 and has a great Viewfinder, well placed buttons and knobs and feels nice to hold even without an after market Grip. Well worth the second hand price and fits in well with my work-flow, I would definitely recommend this Camera to novices and pros alike. I can honestly say these Fuji Cameras are top notch..Great features, Fantastic Design, Easy to use and Stunning Images.

  • Excellent camera

Read a lot before I bought it - & pleased I did. Very good camera to use, fabulous results, great controls, really useful viewfinder(but....... see below...) really everything one could wish for - but the mark 2(X Pro 2) offers most of these improvements - at a price!!! Maybe its me but at this level/cost of camera & in comparison to it's competitors the lack of a viewfinder diopter adjustment (on the Pro 1)is pathetic - as these optical lenses are obtainable from Fuji direct at another £15++(nothing available on the second hand market....) which rather inhibits the use of the viewfinder. Great camera, wish I could afford the Pro 2..........

  • Compact pro

Acquired a near new body as a walk-about back-up for my hefty Nik D800 and Leica M6 because with Fuji's adapters for Leitz glass, I can use my 21/35/50 lenses or quickly switch to a Nik street-sweeper zoom. Manual focus only with these, but stunning results and a very good in/out focus indication. I succumbed to get the 16-50 Fuji zoom, and apart from a focussing problem with bleary old eyes, it is a fabulous little camera in use. And it slays the digital M9 Leica which I've given a try and been badly disappointed by.

  • Great secondhand buy

Old hat now, but a great secondhand buy. A few minor niggles which have been addressed on later models. The exposure compensation dial is easily moved. You have to unscrew a quick release tripod plate to take the battery out. The EVF is a bit rubbish for focussing lenses manually in my own experience. When the batteries lose power ....they do it all of a sudden rather than gradually! BUT it's a great little camera. Better white balance than my Nikon DSLR's, a nice pixel 'grain' at high iso and good high iso performance. Lovely to use. It's NOT a Leica but then it doesn't cost silly money and the choice of lenses is outstanding. You can even get an adapter for DSLR lenses like my Nikon lenses- and the results are excellent.
