A confusing mess of a book, watch the movie instead
What starts off as a rather gruesome but compelling historical fiction horror read loses steam very early on into the story and just becomes more redundant, long-winded, confusing, and narratively weak as the book goes on. I remember the movie being somewhat bad, but at least easier to sit through than this headache inducing mess of a story. Would not recommend to anyone but the most hardcore Rob Zombie fans, and even then, only if they are incredibly patient about finishing bad books once they've started.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
