The Cisco Model DPC3825 8x4 DOCSIS 3.0 Wireless Residential Gateway (DPC3825) is a high-performance home network solution. This all-in-one device combines the functionality of a server, cable modem and wireless access point. Having this combined functionality in one device simplifies usability and saves on space, making it ideal for both the home and small office. The Cisco Model DPC3825 incorporates eight bonded downstream channels along with four bonded upstream channels, making for a faster Internet connection. These bonded channels can deliver downstream data rates in excess of 340 Mbps and upstream speeds higher than 120 Mbps. Compared with a single channel DOCSIS 2.0 cable modem, the Cisco Model DPC3825 would typically be capable of download speeds that are eight times faster. Excellent wifi modem. Fastest out there at this time. If you purchase from a cable store, you can pay up to $470. It is because it is the best. Cable companies also will let you rent it for up to $10 a month with no credit to buy it. If you return it you won't get a refund. Excellent buy and works excellent with pc's and Apples with an airport wifi also. I have mine set up that way with an iMac you do not have to do that just a personal preference. Highly recommend and super easy to set up takes about 5 minutes. You do have call your cable company once plugged for them to activate. Good router for the money.
I bought this router for my son and his family. It worked great for them and they are very happy now that they have a wireless setup to be able to get on the net with their laptop.
