A wolf in sheep clothing
lets start by calling this Amcron an Amcron and not a crown. Now that is out of the way lets start by stating that the amplifier has attack, presence, a superb sound stage and a bass response that is balance and very very tight. Damping factor of over 700 and improves with time, the longer the amp is on the better it sounds. Dynamic range is magnificent and mid range clarity is excellent. Now to the weaknesses. It is heavy, not that attractive and emits a very slight hum when placed on rock hard surfaces. You cannot detect the hum once sound is put through it but if the room is very very very quiet then if you get don on your knees and listen you can hear it. They sell for around 300 gbp and to be fair I cannot start to compare what you get for your money in comparison to the modern amplifiers. I team it up with a Radford zd22 pre-amp and the sound is just spellbinding. feed the amp directly with a controllable input source and it sounds amazing but with a decent pre-amp be amazed so in conclusion a great buy in any language. By the way I am lucky I have two working in mono and the sound is out of this world try good night and good luck the soundtrack I swear i am sitting with the sax player. pparkin1676
