    Wonderful

    I bought these after getting frustrated with a generic make and can't believe how great they are. The price was really good and the pastels are beautifully vibrant with a great range of colours (64 set). They are lovely and soft so no scratching to ruin your paper and are water soluble for watercolour effects. Little tip- you can use thinned pva instead of water to get a sealed paint effect finish or with a thinned matte acrylic medium for a sealed finish without shine. My daughter used these through university and still uses them. When I need more I will be buying the same ones (unless there's a bigger set!) And will be buying some for my little boy too.

    Nice soft pastels

    He's a nice quality soft pastels for the price it's really good idea to have them so you're not spending an inordinate number until you find the colours that you like and then you can just buy the single use ones which in the long term would be cheaper. Unless you just like to use these then just get these again

    Ideal starter set as well as addition for artists

    Love these sets and buy them periodically. Good range of colours which stay true and blend well; the small sticks are of a shape with sharp points on the triangular cross-section you can use for detail and precision. They are small sticks rather than full/half length, but as I usually break round or rectangular sticks in half to use, I like the size. Not the creaminess of expensive pastels or that soft crumbliness, actually a harder composition, but good to use in addition with your posher sets, as well as on their own.

    Superb soft pastels, great results

    I was introduced to these soft pastels on an art course (materials supplied) and was amazed at the great results ( a couple of portraits so far), as I'm just a novice. I haven't used any of the really expensive brands but I would be surprised if they deliver much better than these. I would recommend buying the box of 64 because of the range of different shades. For under a tenner it's got to be worth it. Both the attached portraits were created exclusively with Inscribe soft pastels.

    Great for the starter

    Bought this to get back into my pastel art and must say the quality is fantastic for this price...the colours supplied are vivid without being overly bright. They also blend with each other nicely and also with another brand I use......the only down side is that they do have a problem with breakage while used....but other than that they are great value for money.

    Complete rubbish...Avoid like the plague

    Would've sent them back but did not use till a few months after the purchase. They are rubbish. They are inconsistent. Some of the so-called soft pastels are so hard. they cannot be broken in half without the use of tools You will be disappointed unless you are looking for a set of colourful bricks to build a little house. Avoid like the plague.
