Canon copy hood.
It does the job but it's certainly not up to the standards of an original oem hood from Canon. Having said that it does the job but I don't think it would survive a few hard knocks. Also it's not a very tight fit on the lens and I'd guess on a sunny day that light would leak through this hood where it attaches to the lens,thus defeating the whole purpose of buying it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Too loose
Doesn't quite fit the lens it is designed for, but, if it's lined up with the Canon on camera to the Canon on hood it stays and doesn't appear in pics. It is a little bit loose and can move if knocked, it doesn't come off but it can spin round. Good as a spare, but I wouldn't like to have to use it regularly as it's too fiddley. It's made well and isn't flimsy, it is a genuine Canon hood. Even on the Canon website comments aren't too favourable on this hood, as it's made for the bang up to date lens. And the hood to fit the older lens is no longer available, that is if you want a genuine Canon product. I have used it during a holiday and it did do its job, no shadows in the corners, just need checking every now and then to make sure it's still in the right place. It's fairly good value, Quality is good, I would recommend if you don't want to have to buy a new lens to fit the hood.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Canon lens hood. EW-63C
This lens hood fits very nice and snugly onto my Canon 18 - 55 mm IS STM lens. There seems to be wildly varying reviews of this lens hood, so e saying it doesn't fit properly and others saying it's just fine. The answer to this problem seems to be that it doesn't fit the non STM lens, I have both of these lenses and the hood only fits the STM version properly although it will go on the non STM IS II 18 - 55mm lens it will not fit securely and you wont be impressed.

Paying for the brand and nothing else.
I only went with the brand because I had hoped it would be worth it in terms of build and material. Alas, I could have easily saved myself a lot of money and just got an unbranded one. it's plastic, doesn't lock on that well, and simply just not worth the money. Especially the full RRP, which I paid half off. I had hoped it was metal and fitted like a glove, alas on both fronts, they are just charging you for the name.
