This is the best version - watch it!
I was so pleased to be able to get this dvd at a bargain price and it arrived in perfect condition - even with the cardboard outer cover. In my (humble) opinion, this is the very best adaptation of Emma. All the actors are brilliant - I actually understood who was who and what was going on - the aesthetics and cinematography are absolutely stunning. The costumes and actors - Bill Nighy does a fantastic job as Mr Woodhouse and Miranda Hart plays a blinder as Miss Bates! It was lovely to see Callum Turner - always the rogue eh?!! Weak story line.

If you love the book, you will love this film. Best version of Emma I've seen. Took a wee bit of time getting into it, but brilliantly acted by all, and played for the humour in a way I've not seen before. Got the balance right between humour and serious - lots of light and shade. Great music.
