Karloff lives again
Blu Ray for this title is really good. Color, grain, depth have come out so well, that when you view with the lights off...you'd think you were in a theater. It's not a cheepie release done to cash in on Karloff's name. Unlike my previous DVD copy from MGM (which by the way has completely disintegrated) someone at the wheel knew the Karloff performance they were preserving.
Story is OK - Lovecraft, it is 1965 when made. Sets/location are good - even though it shifted to England instead of New England. Villagers are eerily appropriate.
As followers of Karloff know, this is perhaps his last great starring performance - with "Targets" being the only exception.
Very much recommended viewing. Don't bother buying the MGM DVD copies that are floating around. They've probably disintegrated.
