A nice tough bradawl

Lightweight for smaller jobs
The bradawl is fairly small but reasonable quality and nicely finished. However the shaft is of square tapered section but unaccountably rounded at the business end. I ground mine to a square point so that it would have some bite when making pilot holes.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Basic Tool
The bradawl was not tapered along it's length, only the point was tapered plus the steel is soft and not properly hardened so will blunt easily. I have an old Marples square tapered bradawl where the whole length of the point has a slight taper and the steel is hard and it's a much better tool.
