Good quality but I made a simple improvement.
It works well and the big wheels help to keep moving in a straight line over my bumpy lawn. The manufacturer says you MUST take out the rotating spreader shaft to clean it after each use. However, it is held in place with the supplied split pins, which are not easy to get out once used. I replaced these with R clips, size 2mm x 43 mm. You need to open out the clips from zero gap to 3 mm gap to get them over the large steel shaft more easily. Big improvement when it comes to taking off the wheels for shaft cleaning.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Lawn spreader with issues
Does what it promises, good even application of various materials and products. However, its working life is considerably shortened by the use of a painted mild steel axle which is liable to rust through when used with ferrous sulphate mosskiller. A rusted axle can be replaced with an aluminium tube 19mm by 600mm. The wheel treads would make a clearer impression on grass if they were half the width. Overall, £40 would be good vfm IF it lasted 20 years!!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Very easy to assemble and use. The handle is a bit too light, making it flex slightly. Some users complained about it rusting. They obviously didn't bother reading the manual which says you should empty it when you are finished, clean it thoroughly and spray with water dispersing lubricant (such as WD40). When putting it away for long term storage then it should be dismantled and greased. Then it won't rust. I used it to spread Evergreen complete. Better Than I Expected!
It's well built and has that desirable lever that can stop the flow of the lawn product which prevents scorching of the grass. Very good drop spreader
The drop spreader was really easy to put together and very good quality, th wheels are large so it pushes really well. I tried it on my lawn with Proctors lawn sand feed, weed & moss control, work well nice even spread and the hopper does not leak when the handle is released. Sturdy and large wheels
I haven't used it yet but it seems fine. I think the manufacturer should improve the instructions however. They are printed in incredibly small typeset and one has to keep switching from page to page between reading what to do and trying to make sense of the drawing. Having 3 small lawns II didn't want to spend too much but I was delighted with this well designed robust machine. I have only used it for Lawnsand which I know is not a Growmore product that is recommended but it seemed to get into the axle of the spreader, locking it up. Was a bit anxious because reviews of drop spreaders are mixed and it's not a cheap product for a domestic users. On the other hand I have tried but I can't spread seeds and fertiliser properly by hand with the result that the lawn was scorched in places. So I was relieved that it worked well and was easy to use. I set it to a very low spread rate and walked up and down until the hopper was empty.
