The item is the 1997 reissue of the 1965 kit. Same as other 1:72 Revell B-24D boxings...
Sometimes parts are detached from the fret inside the closed bag but this is the designers fault
never the seller...ageing kit 50+ yrs...Ohh.. Man
+ Nice boxart good theme pick for the kit. Easy assembly.
+ Accurate dimensions, almost the shapes also, engraved panel lines (!)
+ Approx...three (3) times cheaper than the Japan ; two (2) times than the same type, scale Korean kit...
+ Good as for OOB but easy basis for upgrade to LB-30B, B-24 & PB4Y, early British Liberator marks...
+ Most of the inaccuracies are easy to fix, enjoyable building...good practice for youngsters before
expense pro models...
Moveable control surfaces, turrets & retractable gears...toy like common features as on all 60-70s era kits...
Simplified engines, cowlings, turbochargers... greenhouse framings are poorly visible
DON'T FORGET TO PUT LEAD TO NOSE OR REPLACE SOME FRONT PART TO LEAD MADE... TAILSITTER!
' Rivetcounters only' :
- Inaccurate 'boiler plate' sized rivetings...Transparent parts are too thick (need replace to vacumed one..)
- Fowler flap railing; cockpit and stations; sidewalls; gear bays; turret guns are all poorly detailed (need replace
to resin and/or PE part...)
- No bomb bay. Doors are parts of the fuselage halves...No ordinance. (Bays opened due to fuel vapors come
from wing tanks; ventillation is common practice during parking; so...bay inside is partially visible...)
- Crew undersized, poorly detailed thorsos only.
- Tires not weighted nor threads on it..
- Missing bomb aimer/gunner window on right-forward side. No blisters on side windows (on cockpit).
- Oversized probes; slightly undersized prop. diameter (eeg..short blades)
