Lettering too small and no back light for the small clock.
I bought this refurnished, it came with a broken plastic corner, no problem,glued it and got a partial refund. But the cheapos don't include the metal filter and don't give a warranty. The lettering is hard to read, too small. On the plus side, it brews quickly, and the carafe pours nicely, no drips. Also, when removing the pot while brewing, it doesn't drip as the stopper is spring loaded. It sets up okay,but the clock is small and no back light, so have to squint when using it. Will brew 1-4 cups and it's super hot. For a large pot, I use the M setting, and it's plenty hot. I don't use the timer functions as I have it ready to go and just toggle the power on, like I said, brews quickly. This purchase is a replacement for the same coffee maker I've had for 10+ yrs, I did not take very good care of my old one even though I loved it dearly. It started shutting off mid cycle and getting noisy so I had to retire it...God knows how long it would last if I maintained it properly. Still my favorite coffee maker.
I've owned this model (DCC-1200) since it was first introduced quite some time ago. I have been replacing it with the same model since then. I have ALWAYS loved the design and features. The top feature for me is the auto shut off warmer, no more "accidents" being left on. It brews coffee at least as well or better then any other drip coffee maker AND it keeps it at just the right temperature. It has a large 12 cup capacity AND a very small footprint for its size. On top of that, it really does look good. When I look on the store shelf's it is easy for me to see how this particular Cuisinart model has had a big influence on the designs by other brand makers over the years which I think tells a story of it's own.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

This makes my 4th Cuisinart coffee pot in this series.. They are without a doubt a wonderful great manufactured product.. Same problem after years of use is one of two problems that ends their life. Heating element in brew cycle, or leak in reservoir. A great machine for coffee.
This is the best coffee machine I have ever used. A quality item which consistently makes a great drip brew. This particular model has been out for over ten years, and for good reason. This is our second DDC-1200, the first lasted over ten years. In fact the older machine still works but our water has on occasion clogged the pipes, so it's not always reliable it also makes the coffee taste terrible. Cleaning it is useless. Perfect coffee maker
After breaking the carafe on my old Cuisinart and not being able to get a new one for that model, I bought a Mister Coffee machine. What a disappointment! I got on EBay and found this re-conditioned Cuisnart for a great price and free shipping. I don't know needed re-conditioning because it looks brand new.
