Too early to say if they have worked, but easy to fit.

Hard to give a review yet, as they will take some time to kick in. I do know that they have worked for other people, which was my main reason for purchase. I can say that they are reasonably priced, and if you can drill a hole in mortar to the required depth, you can fit these (SDS type drill is best, cheap enough nowadays.) The fitting was a quick process for me, having the side and front of the house done in one morning. They can be fitted from the inside or the outside, depending on circumstances. I would recommend the special tool for cleaning holes out, even though it is a little expensive, I found it worthwhile. There is a special tool for cutting the rods (should you need to), but a sharp "Stanley" knife works a treat.

  • Most critical review

It is not as effective as the crem

Initially it appears that these rods would be better than the cream by the same manufacturer, but I felt the result was not effective. It looked less messy than the cream, easier to apply and faster. I checked the results after four weeks and was very disappointed that it did not do what it said on the tin. I applied the cream and had very successful results. These rods are over priced, in particular when they do not do the job.

  • New Tech for DPC layer in walls

Easy to use and a lot less messy than gun and cream. Easier to get the right length and not squirt loads of DPC into a void. Only real issue is that as it is new tech who really knows in 10yrs time if it will be as effective. I'm sure Dryrod have done all the right stuff but product hasn't established a track record. I've used 1/2 and 1/2 on two adjacent walls so Ill report back in a few years!

  • Early days but so far so good!

we bought just a few of these as had only a small area to cover on an internal wall. It is too early to say how effective they will be or indeed remain effective as only 12 days into it after installation. I would say that after 2-3 days the upper section of damp wall was releasing powdery salts and we were concerned but at this point 12 days later the wall seems dry and no salt residue. We did not buy the hole cleaning tool as unessessery if you suck out any debris with a good vaccuum cleaner like a henry. You also need a good powerful drill with a lengthy drill bit then they are easy to insert. What I and others have said is that do not expect an instant reaction from these but after a couple of weeks you do see the results!

  • Have used it before on other properties with great results.

Have used this dry rod system before with pleasing results virtually straight away. Just follow the instructions, quick and easy to use. No need to get the professionals in if the job is tackled as soon as possible. Used on a pre war house with some rising damp issues (blistering plaster/loose wall paper). Positive results within a few days. Neighbour now using it for a similar problem. Great DIY product.

  • Seem to be effective

We have tried some in one part of the wall and now, after a couple of months, seem to be working so have now decided to install them into the rest of the wall. They are easy to install and are an easy way to fix rising damp.

  • Easy damp proofing.

Find your mortar joint, measure, drill your holes, insert rod. How easy is that ?. They come in packs of 10, but if you don't use all at same time seal up the coil pack they come then the remaining rods won't dry out and will keep for ages ready for when you need them.
