TP Link AC600 T2U Nano USB Wifi Dongle
I use it on a desktop or laptop with a 2M USB extension lead and it works fine. Driver installation on a Windows 10 device was easy - you can download latest version from TP Link's website.

Don't buy if running Win10
Afraid to say I'm one of the many that on installing it get a snails pace of data throughput (less than 10Mbps) on Win10. It appears to be a driver problem and has been known about for a while with no real resolution. Best bet is to try downgrade the driver to the original V1 and stop automatic updates. Not the plug and play you would have hoped for. Works fine on Linux. Be careful second time round I had a closer look at several adaptors and quite a few had similar throughput issues. I ended up getting one based on an OLD Realtek RT5370 chipset that runs 3 times as fast and no driver issues (only cost a couple of quid too).

Unlike my other TP Link usb wifi adapter (a TL WN823N), this one works faultlessly. It appears that some other models don't perform as well at longer ranges, this one does.
