Great tool for the price!
Purchased this to put finishing touches on my workshop. It I have never performed any scrolling and thought that I would give it a try. It was easy to set up out of the box and I made a few test cuts just to try it out. I changed it from pinned to unpinned without too much effort. The manual is pretty vague in the pictures but after 5 minutes of trying to do it the wrong way, I found the error of my ways and was successful. Before buying this, I read many reviews and found that most negative comments were on using/changing the unpinned blades. After a few times, I found the process quite easy. Tensioning of the blade is critical to blade life and quality of cut. I use the "high C" method by strumming the blade. The air pump worked so-so. The pump speed is controlled by the saw speed so really only works well at higher speeds. The saw seemed to be well built, (I have several other Wen tools). The vibration does increase as speed increases but a solid base to put the saw upon made this a non-issue as well. I am very happy with this addition to my woodshop. It may not be a $500 DW788 but for my usage, it is more than adequate.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Just the right size saw for the purpose.

Good features with better than average performance
This Wen scroll saw does a good job. But probably like most scroll saws, it does have a problem with the blade remaining lined up perfectly with your cut, and it seems especially true when cutting hardwood (oak, maple etc). You need to carefully 'steer' your stock into the blade while keeping an eagle eye on the blade's cutting direction. Other that this issue, this machine does it's job well. Nice Hobby Tool
Very good quality, very inexpensive, does remarkable job cutting curves, good hobby tool. I make name signs and have had one years ago and missed it and so am into it again. Wen 3921 Scroll saw
I had a used Craftsman, but this Wen is like the difference between night and day. It was easy to attach to a board and then my stand. The controls are placed perfectly and I got the hang of changing blades. I was new to scrolling, but I am getting better due to the ease of use with this Wen.
