    Ink storage tanks

To be fair I haven't printed a photo yet, but I have printed pages off the net, and done copies. All fab. I direct the printer from the computer as the LED screen is a bit confusing. Ink cartridges made me so angry. £20 for 2 teaspoons of ink, and then you couldn't tell if they had finished, or if your printer was up the swanny. You can with this printer see how much ink is left. You can plan ahead as you have the visual info. Ok so I paid more initially but now I can budget for other things, without including unknown ink costs. I also pay a much better price when ink is needed. Beyond pleased about that... My only very minor complaint is that I would have liked a white or cream one. So I have made a cover it. Double triple RECOMMEND.....Bogg off cartridges... They are the biggest con of our time..................

Lacks features but is good at what it does do.

To be honest, I though at this price I was going to be buying a pretty well loaded device, after all a WF-3720 can be had for less than £80, but it uses cartridges. However I bought this model anyway, it has no borderless printing, no double sided printing, no paper tray and no double sided scanning, all of which the 6 year old WF-3520 it is replacing had. It also has no maintenance box, so that is a trip to the repairers (or tip) when the ink pad is full. I also bought an unlimited printing voucher from the Epson web site, all the ink you can get through and your warranty extended, both to a two year period. The print quality is good, but on high quality setting the printer is a bit slow, which is OK in a home office I guess. I doubt if I had to buy another printer tomorrow that I would buy another Ecotank model, you would get better VFM buying a normal Epson and fitting an external CISS and putting genuine Epson ink into that.

  • Ink-tank reigns supreme.

A more realistic price for the product meaning that printing is sooo much cheaper, in terms of ink costs, as well as being somewhat less exasperating when, after only 10 or 20 pages of printing, you discover your cartridge needs replacing, again! The more you print the more you save against a traditional, pay through the nose, cartridge type ink jet machine and no waiting around for a minute or so for it to clean the heads, wasting precious ink. It's early days, but for me this is an excellent printer.

  • Epson printer

Really happy with the Epson eCOtank ET-4500. Easy to setup and the onboard controls make it easier to use. I did have 1 issue when I sent to print on my phone the printer didn't print everything out. Not sure why that happened.

  • Good Tank Based Printer

Slow to scan like all Epson printers, but with excellent print quality. I would not buy this printer again as for £50 more I could have bought the ET4550 which has a tray, duplex system and two sets of ink refills! So the £50 savings on the ET4500 is pointless as the refills alone cost £40!
