    Amazingly versatile & light TIG/MMA welding set

    Being a very infrequent DIY welder I have not invested in any welding equipment for over 20 years but in order to fabricate a long lasting cooking grid for my gas BBQ using 304 stainless steel I realised that my Clarke EN90 MIG welder in my hands was not going to deliver the results I was looking for. After checking out some YouTube clips I realised that TIG was the way to go & stared looking for a reasonably priced machine. This ROHR machine has exceeded my expectations, it is well made, sturdy yet light weight & compact. Unlike other TIG capable machines it comes with both a TIG torch + 4m. lead, as well a conventional stick/MMA lead, & an earth clamp lead. I still need to practice my TIG arc control skills but I have used both welding modes & am confident that this machine will help me become a capable DIY welder. TIG electrodes & an argon gas supply are required to get started on TIG welding. I also highly recommend a mask/helmet that has reactive/auto darkening capability as these are a huge aid to improved welding especially the initial strike positioning.

    Easy to use and great value.

    I'm an absolute novice, but this is very easy to get along with and I'm looking forward to improving my skills with it. Easy to set up, supplied torch is WP-17 so takes standard components and everything works just fine out of the box for me. It's a lot cheaper than all the ancillary items that you need to purchase when starting out! Thoroughly recommended.

    worth every penny. easy to move, easy to use. not sure how I managed without it!

    I have used this on my allotment TIG welding sheet steel and stick welding angle iron fencing brackets etc. Because its nice and light (your back will thank you!) and due to its design (runs from a much smaller generator than my big old clunky transformer MIG) the whole set up was much easier to transport. I've used MIG for over 30 years and always hesitated to switch to TIG as I've heard it can be difficult for someone used to MIG, however this welder is nice and simple with very little to think about other than the filler wire. I found it easy and regret not trying it years ago. I suspect had I bought a top of the range TIG with all the bells and whistles that the multiple setting would have put me off. This is a great welder to start on and I suspect it will be more than most folk (including my self) will ever need.

    more than meets the eye

    the welder purchased is more than i need as i only work on light material (10mm to me is heavy engineering ) but because of this i find i have more flexibility. straight out of the box and plugged in for a dummy run i found the machine to be well beyond anything i would ever need. it is quiet/smooth in operation, with clean results when used for tig brazing i have also found that although not designed to weld aluminium it is possible to do given patience and care on up to 3mm material all in all a powerful , neat , flexible machine.

    Good little welder.

    Bought this as I'd never TIG welded before and wanted to give it a go. The machine looks well made and is easy to set up. You will need to buy the ancillary items, tungsten electrodes, gas line, regulator etc separately. but once assembled the welder performs really well. Great for DIY enthusiast and hobby welder.

    Quality kit.

    Excellent welder, produces quality welds every time. Seems reliable, I have so far spent several hours tig welding 1 - 1.5 mm tubes without any problems. Was dubious that such a low price machine would be any good, but works as well as machines 4 times the price. Highly recommended as a low amperage welder.

    good light welder

    really impressed with this welder i do a lot of arc welding and have untill now only used old style arc welders ive resisted buying a inverter welder for a few years as i thought if its not broke dont fix it but i was wrong the welder is so light 7kg i believe ive been luging a 30kg welder up ladders and all over the place for years! also its very powerfull with a good constant currant and no more melted extension cables it runs cool even at the end of a 100m cable! i wish id had one years ago. im yet to use the tig side of things but if ita half as good as the rest it will be great
