Un-hygenic, difficult to clean thoroughly..
Un-hygenic, can;t clean between the grinding bowl and the outer casing - poor design. If you want to drind coffee beans it is a two stage process. Grind one in the large chamber gives a rough texture. Grind two in the second "capped" chamber gives a very fine texture. It works but it is fiddly, a Bosch coffee grinder is better, but more expensive.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not a James Martin Wahl product
I specifically ordered the James Martin spice blender by Wahl, as I previously owned 1 and it was amazing. Unfortunately what they sent was not the Wahl product. I didn't try it out so can't say how it works, but the blades are set high, so I have found these high blades don't really work for spices. Another thing I didn't like, is the grinding pot is not removable so you can't wash it out properly. I was very disappointed that they advertised the product as wahl, but sent something total different, so I returned this product.

Our 2nd one of these, first did several years service. We regularly grind spices first doing a rough grind then use the supplied attachment for small amounts to provide a fine grind. This is an excellent grinder, ideal for spices that benefit from a 2nd grinding with the special attachment. It is a modern version of my 12 year old, cracked James Martin grinder with an improved removable spice bowl. I don't think it is any more stable though, falling over when I put the plug in.
