Excellence at a good price
Boguth this to replace my old receiver when it died on me. I had my previous unit for about 10 years. Tech has changed significantly since then and I was looking forward to a new unit. I did a bunch of homework and wound up settling on this unit. I have very high quality speakers and am a cinema junky so I wanted excellent quality but like many couldn't justify spending thousands. This receiver has more than enough hdmi inputs for NY usage ( Nintendo switch, BR/DVD and roku). It also has Bluetooth connectivity which functions well and is easy to set up. Initial set up is easy and intuitive. The included mic for setting up the delay between front and rear speakers has a more than long enough cord to allow for appropriate placement to get the perfect settings for you front to rear, side to side delays perfect. The initial set up is very user friendly and is done on the TV screen making initial set up easy with no bizarre abbreviations commonly found on older units. Some extreme purists will complain about only the front and center channel outputs having the banana plugs while the other connections are posts. To be honest, I find that as long as you have a good connection the sound quality does not vary enough for the human ear to detect. I would recommend using a minimum of 16ga wire though in order to get the best possible quality. Video quality is excellent as well.
