Awesome cheese slicer.
I have purchased several other cheese slicers (the one with the wire) and had to replace all of them. I saw this reviewed on the TODAY show and decided to take a chance. I'm SO glad I did. This cuts blocks of cheese like butter. My BF loves it also and I want to purchase another one. Hopefully these will be back in stock for the same price. Where has this been all my life???? Not worth the money.
The only thing it cut was my thumb. Its all plastic, except for the blade. It wouldn't even cut soft cheese. They claim its from Germany, but its more than likely from China. Also, I cannot get them to send me a shipping label to return it. Everybody doesn't have a printer to print out a label. Also, its too small to be of much use. I've tried the plastic cheese knife which broke while still new. With its metal blade this slicer is working great. It lets me cut RattleSnake cheese the perfect thickness and size for nachos. This hot spicy cheese needs no pepper slices, only the cheese for very good nachos. The slicer is sturdy and easy to clean. Small enough to keep in the refrigerator with the cheese. Best cheese cutter I have ever used
I was skeptical when I opened it and saw the blade: I need it for cutting cheese in our restaurant and it looked as though it would cut and get gummed up like a knife. I was wrong! This little bugger cuts through cheddar better than my old wire cutter and I don’t have to worry about replacing the wire all the time. A better cheese slicer.
I bought this for two reasons. One I like real thin sliced cheese on my toasted cheese sandwiches; and two I watch the wife cut herself when trying to slice cheese with a knife.
