I have been using Sta-bil fuel stabiliser for years to keep petrol fresh and avoid problems, and so far have never been disappointed. I use it in all my petrol equipment that isn't in daily use... Mowers, power washers, boats, and anything that will sit for a few weeks without being used. I tend to use it on every fill, rather than just on laying up. While it says it will keep fuel fresh for up to 12 months, it can be longer. I used it to lay up a boat... 2 years later I turned the key, and the engine fired up immediately.
