Sony SRF-M85W Walkman - works great; so far, it's all good
I just received this, so my comments are based on setting it up and checking it out. Everything about this unit is as advertised. Small, lightweight, uses just one AAA battery (rechargable or alkaline/lithium), gets really good reception, the headphones that come with it are Sony good (sounds like rich stereo to me). It curves so that whether using the armband or belt clip, it fits on you better. I bought this mainly to listen to radio while running outside. The armband seems to work great. However, because I'll have it on my arm and running, I won't be using the stopwatch feature (I have a watch for that), or looking at the display or changing stations much. I'll just set it, put it on my arm and go. If you're using the beltclip or holding the unit while working out, changing stations, using the stopwatch, etc will be easy to do. It is advertised as water resistant, so you don't want to dunk it in water, I'll see how it resists rain or heavy sweating. Another feature is a countdown timer that operates the radio for a time you set and then cuts it off like a sleep timer. It also has a pitch timer, which I won't be using. I had this feature on an old running watch and only used it once because I found it more annoying than useful. Setup and use is fairly easy and straight forward because the instructions are accurate and written in plain English. I don't know how long the battery will last with my usage, but I use rechargables, so I don't really care. There is a battery indicator that displays when the radio is on, but I don't know how accurate it is (because it's a Sony, I'll bet it actually works).
