good device for the price, beware of 2 difrent models.
living and biking in Rockford, IL i bought this. i also own 2 other different model pepper guns. this one holds more spray than any other and has a better range. it fires a stream instead of a mist so you better hit the attacker in the face, but it goes every bit of 20'. my only complaint is that the picture was of the early all aluminum model and i received the new plastic model. it is a little big to pocket carry, but i added a I.W.B. conceal carry clip and wear it in my waist line. it is fairly thick but as long as you are not wearing a tight shirt it doesn't print too bad.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Mace Gun not the one!
Beware, this product can give u a false sense of security! The gun works but u cant depend on the carriages, which is why you buy the gun in the 1st place, I tested it and instead of a long thin stream of thug stopping spray is this short, sudsy like foam, much like shaving cream, so I thought, oh it must be old, so I brought a brand new cartridge, (which are kind of expensive by the way) & got the Exact Same Results!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great Self-protection item
I will definitely feel more secure having this with me when I feel I'll be somewhere that I should carry it. It's a little heavier than I expected so I won't use this for running, but I do have other small & powerful devices that I can use for that. I got the practice water cartridge so I was able to see how it fires however it ran out quickly due to the size and power. That being said, I loved how powerful it was, and was direct and you could shoot from a good distance. I would love to have one just a little smaller and lighter but this is a great item. Great protection
This is a great product and makes me feel more secure when hiking on the local trails, not only for devient people, but for Bobcats and Mountain Lions as well. I practiced with the water cartridge and it was easy to get proficient quickly, just point and squeeze the trigger. I also bought one for my wife (Pink). I have a leather holster and my wife has a nylon holster. I recommend the nylon because the leather grips the gun too tight making it hard to extract quickly.Verified purchase: Yes

Real piece of mind
Bought this for my daughter that goes to college and works after classes so she drives back home in the dark. We live in Alabama, an open carry state, but I didn't want to buy her a gun because I was afraid of what would happen if she got bum rushed by more then one person. I wouldn't want a gun taken from her and used on her. This pepper spray gun is perfect for her because it sprays up to 20 feet away. Attacked by a dog
Bought this for my adult daughter who has two small rescue dogs, mixed terrier mutts. While walking the dogs in the neighborhood they were attacked by a 85 lb. aggressive dog who was in its open yard with its owner and his brother. When my daughter saw the big dog charging toward her she picked up her two dogs and turned her back to protect herself and her dogs. The big dog knocked her down and grabbed one small dog. Luckily the owner of the big dog saw this happening and he and his brother were right behind the big dog when it was running toward my daughter. It took the strength of the two adult men to get their big dog to release the small dog. The small dog had puncture wounds on its body. My daughter had four bleeding abrasions on her knees and elbows. The owner of the big dog paid the $600.00 vet bill. Does exactly what no other product seems to be capable of doing. Takes less than a second or two to grab, unlock, shoot and hit a target 20 feet away. And the spray reaches the target immediately upon pulling the trigger, no delay, less than a half second to travel 20 feet to target). And, lightweight, easy to conceal and carry. The strobe light is useless but it doesn't matter. You don't need it. Bear sprays can effectively shoot a target 30 feet away but it takes the spray at least 3-5 seconds to reach the target, and the spray cloud is so large and voluminous that you have to run in the opposite direction to avoid it travelling back into your face. Great product!
Living in NJ, this is about the only paper spray that is semi-legal (NJ permits only 3/4 Oz per canister, and this one is 1 Oz, which is Ok I guess), and fires far enough. The thing fires about 8 times per canister, the firing distance is about 12 feet. Overall quality of the gun is very good, it is easy to conceal, fairly light, easy to use and operate.
