  • Undemanding but incredibly entertaining!

If you want to just have a good time then you'll definitely enjoy yourself while watching this movie. However, if you go in expecting a deep story, three dimensional characters who you really get to know, etc. You'll be disappointed. The characters are entertaining, the actors give it their all and are fun to watch. What story there is, is engaging. The action choreography is incredible, over the top sure, but excellent none the less. This movie has some of the best action scenes i've ever seen. It moves along at a nice pace, never boring, never drags, and is also very funny. The real disappointment though is the blu-ray. The picture is pretty good; there's not a lot of detail but the image is clean and looks better than a dvd would. The audio on the other hand is awful. I switch between the Mandarin HD 5.1 track and the Mandarin 2.0 stereo track throughout the film, and the dialogue scenes were better with the 2.0 track but sounded muffled on the 5.1 track, where as, the sound effects in the action scenes such as punch and kick impact sounds or objects breaking, sounded better on the 5.1 track but bad on the 2.0 track. The audio overall is poor, the dialogue sounded as though the actors had a sheet over their head when they were speaking. The music, which is incredible in the movie, could have sounded better too. I can't speak for the HD English audio track because I hate the idea of dubs on foreign language movies, so I didn't even test it out. In conclusion, what I'm trying to say is that, this is a great movie, but the audio ruins the experience and really detracted from my enjoyment of the movie. Recommended for the movie, video transfer, and extras.
