There are several Tim Buckley "Best of" compilations but this double CD is by far the best. It comprehensively covers his 8 years of recording career going in many musical directions with each album release. It is also bold in covering albums that many other compilations rarely include such as "Lorca" (including the lengthy album title track) and "Blue Afternoon".
There are inevitably some tracks included one might disagree with. For me, the inclusion of 5 tracks from his fine but not outstanding debut album seems excessive. The exclusion of any tracks from his final two albums `'Seafronia" (especially the amazing "Dolphins") and "Look at the fool" feels harsh.
Yet in giving the listener a comprehensive coverage of Buckley's many different musical directions, especially new listeners to Tim Buckley, this album is the gold standard, with some concise liner notes by Paul Lester.
