About this product

Product Information

The Intel Xeon X5675 Six Core 3.06 GHz Processor fits motherboards that feature an FC LGA 1366 socket. It runs at a thermal design power or TDP of 95W, making it an energy-efficient choice to power your machine. In terms of gaming, this Xeon server processor has a lot to offer in terms of speed, power, and efficiency. This is partially thanks to its high-powered 3.06 GHz speed. The clock speed of the CPU can be increased to 3.46 GHz during heavy usage for maximum power. This helps increase performance by limiting bottlenecking while playing games that rely heavily on the CPU.The unit uses the Intel Core 32nm Westmere-EP micro-architecture. This helps the Intel Xeon X5675 Six Core processor better regulate energy consumption. The CPU has the ability to shift into a low power state automatically. This Intel engineering also helps the processor run cool while handling large workloads, which is important for server CPUs. Based on Intel's 64-bit architecture, this unit works on systems with more than 4GB of physical and virtual memory. This offers improved operating power and makes it compatible with a wide array of programs. This Xeon CPU also features Intel Virtualization Technology FlexMigration. This technology gives you the ability to virtually create other generations of Xeon CPUs to aid data migration processes. The built-in hardware feature gives you the ability to migrate workloads from older servers easily. By migrating work, you can run fewer servers at night to save on your electricity bill. The Intel Xeon X5675 Six Core unit features 12MB of smart cache. This piece of hardware features three levels of cache. The first level offers 32 KB, the second level has 256 KB, and the third is equipped with 2 MB. Thanks to Intel's Smart Cache, this unit can share access to the third level of RAM when needed for fast memory access. This model offers a bus speed of 6.4 GT/s QPI. The QPI, which stands for Quick Path Interconnect, allows for interconnection between the CPU and the memory controller. This unit has a max memory size of 288 GB. It also supports DDR3 RAM, which allows for higher bandwidth. The high benchmarks of this unit are achieved thanks to Intel's hyper-threading, which allows for thread-level parallelism on all of the cores. The result is a system that offers improved performance for multi-threaded programs. The Intel Xeon X5675 Six Core unit is a great choice for mobile systems thanks to Enhanced SpeedStep Engineering. These specifications give your system high performance while still meeting the requirements of power conservation for mobile systems. This feature, which is used in many Xeon CPUs, allows the unit to switch frequency and voltage as needed. By pulling less power from the motherboard and fluctuating its GHz, these processors can be used in mobile and desktop systems. This unit can also keep your servers safer with Intel trusted execution engineering. These units feature a hardware-based instruction set that can protect against software-based attacks. This protects the integrity of the server and the confidentiality of anything stored on it. This has been achieved by allowing applications to run in their own spaces, closed off from other software.

  • worth every cent

The CPU arrived in 10 days, it was extremly fast. It was packed very well, and even thermal compound was included. After I installed it in my motherboard, the bios detected it just fine, and everything works perfectly. I am using it for a few weeks now, no problem whatsoever. It's a poweful old beast, capable of doing much work at stock speeds, but with a bit of overclock it's performance can be compared to the performance of much newer CPUs'. I love it. I recommend it to everyone who has a first generation i7 and is looking for a nice upgrade.

  • Xeon X5675, value king for LGA1366

Best value 95W CPU for X58 motherboards i.e. LGA1366 socket. 6 cores, 12 threads, runs quite cool on stock with a bit better CPU cooler than Intel BOX one. OC's like a champ, even with basic X58 motherboard and decent heatpipe based or AIO CPU cooler at least around 4.2GHz is what you should expect at minimum, on average 4.3GHz to 4.4GHz most should get with OC and with better X58 boards 4.4GHz to 4.6GHz is quite doable without much effort. All of those stil running some 4c/8t 1st gen Core i7 on their beloved X58 motherboards should consider switching to this X5675 (or at least X5670), do some OC on it and enjoy few more years until X58 gets obsolete when DDR5 RAM arrives in 2022.

  • Best upgrade option for 1st gen i7. Cheap, fast, runs cooler, more cores & threads!

Great chip, easily performed at stock speeds better than my i7 920 Overclocked to 3.6ghz. Honestly so glad I made this upgrade, it overclocked to 4.2ghz easily and could push to 4.6 but that's not necessary. It runs great at 4.2 on 212 Evo cooler 30C idle and 70C stress test. It runs cooler & faster with the extra 2 cores and 4 threads allowing me to have a lot of applications running at the same time while playing a game. Highly recommend this chip, insane value for the money if you already have the x58 motherboard using a non xeon chip.

  • Good value, overclocks like a charm!

2017 review: Upgraded from a i7 930 stock-clock, and I managed to easily get my X5675 to 4Ghz with 65°C under load (watercooled). I probably could have sqeeze in more clock, but I already get 2x the benchmark score of my old 930. So yeah, this is still quite an awesome and up-to-date CPU.

  • Great value upgrade

First attempt to install processors in my HP Proliant ML350 failed with the server turning on but not booting even to BIOS. Did some research online and found that updating the BIOS might fix the problem. Found the latest BIOS available for the server and upgraded. Processors work great now!

  • Best bang for your buck Mac Pro CPU Upgrade

Did a firmware flash on my 4,1 Mac Pro and installed this CPU to replace the 4 core 4 thread CPU that it had in it. For under $30 this is a huge performance upgrade for the single CPU Mac pros. Highly recommend this upgrade for anyone with a 4,1 or 5,1 Mac Pro

  • Xeon X5675 Delidded CPUs Work Great in a Macpro4,1 MB

The delidded X5675 were a snap to install in my Dual Processor MacPro4,1 system. I am getting roughly an overall performance improvement of 40%. The system is running fine after a firmware update to 5,1 and an additional firmware/software upgrade to High Sierra (from El Capitan).
