Not as green as you might expect
The hard drive has slow writes and fast reads. It's reliable and should last for many years. Unfortunately it is not as quiet as expected, by default there is head parking every 8 seconds and it is a lot of trouble to turn this off, requiring Linux software or a Windows DOS application.
