Released in a hinged tin box, A Century of Flight includes an additional 2,000 functioning airports and nine new aircraft, including Charles Lindbergh's Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis, the Douglas DC-3, and the Wright Flyer (the first successful airplane). A collection of articles provides information on the history of flight, the Microsoft Flight Simulator, and the featured airplanes. New features include enhanced scenery and 3D interactive cockpits.<br><br>As with previous versions, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 contains sections on creating or selecting flights, expanding the experience by downloading add-on packs of scenery and aircraft, and a detailed on-CD manual. While a lot older than the FSX or some competitors, still valuable
A very nice package, top condition, happy with shipping speed. The FS 2004 version was gold standard for years. Many add-ons were made for it that are very useful. I consider the 2004 and FSX versions compatible for most users if they run two computers and do multi-player sessions. So the 2004 software, while dated, runs fine on my Windows 10 modern computers with good screen quality. Will do fine on other previous Windows OS, like XP, 7, 8, etc. Have been using flight simulators since the mid 1980s. Was on a Commodore 64, subLOGIC brand. Progressed up through the early Windows versions of Microsnot Flight Sims. Used some others too. Tried and enjoyed FSX, and "Flight" that died a too-early death.

unable to rate
im unable to play the game, it loads through all dvds, but once prompted to play, will not play. the shortcut icon for the game is on screen. says see your administrator. i honestly don't believe that its the product. i have a 2021 hp computer thats only a couple of months old. i would rather have an updated flight game, i even checked the compatibility still wont play. i bought this game when i had an ibuy power computer and loaded fine..older computer.

Awsome game
Everything is good about this product, the scenery, the graphics, communication between instructor and pilot. This is a great simulator. I had problem's opening up the game in windows 7 OS so I turned to my other laptop with the windows XP OS and it installed perfectly and ran flawlessly. If you have the windows 7 professional I understand it should work okay on that system. If you plan on installing this game or any game in your computer, make sure you create a separate folder in your C: drive, that way it will not be in your default programs, less to go wrong. Name it, FS Games. Enjoy the game. Hope this helps.

TRUE flight sim
This is the best simulator for actual flight procedures. Much better than FX. Graphics are comparatively crude but still very usable. Even though it is 16 years old, it is still very worthwhile if you truly want to understand real world flying.

Microsoft has made their own product hard to use
Turns out FS 9 may be the best version Microsoft produced. One of their own OS updates prevents the user from opening the program. The update for win 7 and later has to be removed before the user can access the program. It was not easy to figure this out. There is also a patch available that can eliminate the requirement for keeping the 4th CD in the drive bay. This requirement is what was incompatible with the update, so Microsoft shot down their own product. Once this is resolved, the program seems to work as well as it did on my XP machine.

Loading the disks not a problem. Game just would not start. Spent a day or so, looking for answers on the internet. Did two different downloads, and now it works. However, the videos still do not run, but I can FLY!!

I've used every Microsoft Flight Simulator version that's ever been produced - including Flight Simulator X Gold Edition. I always find myself going back to Simulator 2004. In my opinion it's the best version Microsoft ever released.
