This gel works after a minute or two and is a great value
I've used it on many throbbing type cuts, hangnails, and after splinter removal. It is a gel, so it stays on the surface where you use it. I always use a bandage over it. Within a few minutes the pain is gone. If the pain disappeared right away I would have given it 5 stars, otherwise...it's a very useful product. Completely ineffective
I bought this 5% lidocaine ointment as a replacement of one that I've finished. I use it for my dermarolling. I've been doing this for about a year and using my previous 5% lidocaine cream for the same time. This ointment does not work. It's very greasy (ointment) and I've left it on my skin from at least 15 minutes to an hour and experienced NO NUMBING whatsoever. My previous cream was fast (effective within 10-15 minutes) and reduced pain significantly because of total numbness. I don't recommend this to anyone. I threw mine out and have gone back to purchasing my previous cream although it was a bit expensive. A better lidocaine option would be those creams used for people who suffer from hemorrhoids.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

ABSOLUTELY INEFFECTIVE!
I purchased this numbing ointment for a tattoo laser removal. I applied liberally to the area for 90 minutes covered with a plastic cling wrap prior to the laser tattoo procedure. I have two tattoos, left side was treated with Lidocaine Actavis and the right side with nothing. I just had the procedure 5 hours ago, not effective at all in at least lessening the pain. Lidocaine ointment
First of all....it took forever for it to arrive...weeks as a matter of fact....i use a lidocaine cream usually called speed numb that aids in pain relief fir tattoos....this stuff I recieved did absolutely nothing to stop the pain...I might as well had used toothpaste or shaving cream....it would have had the same effect....lesson learned...will not order this again....EVER!
