Excellent quality and easy to setup

Nice and easy
It's a small black box. with a plug and a socket in the back for an hdmi connection. No chance of going wrong in connecting it to a TV. A small slot on the front allows you to connect a USB memory stick to view videos or photos or to play music files. The buttons on the front of the unit are Play, Eject and Power. They're quite small and difficult to distinguish in low light so you'll need to learn what order they are in. Or you can simply use the remote control ( which will also control the sound and power on the TV if you own a Samsung TV). The setup menu is pretty simple to follow and the main menu where you can choose what kind of media to play is also very straightforward. Picture quality is great with blu ray discs and you can also notice a small improvement in picture quality on DVDs (I played one in a Toshiba DVD player with Scart connection then played the same DVD on the BD player and the picture was noticeably sharper) There aren't many extra features on this box, such as networking but for the price and the ease of use it's a good buy.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Very good unit - plays all of my film files via USB as well. Amazing picture and sound quality. The only slight drawbacks are that there is no front light to say that it is on and the DVD player is not multi region, so I can't get that excellent quality on my Region 1 DVD's. Great Value for Money
I've had the player for a couple weeks now and it works fine so far. It would be helpful if it had an on/off indicator as you cannot tell if it has turned itself off. Also, for some reason, it is not able to read song track titles from purchased CD's. It will only show track number. Small and functional

Great for the price!
Smaller than I expected but that's not a bad thing! My previous DVD/VHS player was huge but handy for those old tapes I still have! Note to self; replace old tapes with Blu-Ray asap! This Samsung gives a beautiful picture and is very simple to operate. Only downside is the absence of any indication that the machine is actually switched on; there's no light or any way to tell if it's on or off! Sometimes basic is best..
Sometimes owning very expensive, top of the range BLU-RAY players can mean you get all the issues that come with them. Like having to connect it to the Internet, pairing it with whatever blu-tooth device you have, scrolling through the 7 billion options available to you, and the constant unending updates they require!
